Government of India has revamped the CRF by the way of imposing cess of Re.1.00 per liter of petrol and diesel consumed in the State. It has been decided to utilize 15% of cess on diesel and 30% of cess on petrol for maintenance of State Highways and Major District Roads. Out of this amount, 10% is earmarked for development of roads / improvement of roads of Inter State and Economic Importance. For financing the State road under CRF, Government of India has prepared specific guidelines to be followed. Under this resources head, roads are improved and bridges are constructed with funds, available from Government of India since 2001-02. There is budget provision of Rs.505.00 Crores for the year 2017-18 for 22nos. of ongoing bridges, 11 ongoing road projects and 17 new road projects & 2 Nos. new bridge projects, which are in pipeline. It is targeted to complete 5 nos. of bridge projects and to improve 30 km road in during the financial year, 2017-18.
