| FLY OVER AT RAJMAHAL SQUARE,BHUBANESWAR- BRIEF AT A GLANCE |
Traffic intensity in Bhubaneswar city is increasing very fast day by day. RajMahal Square is densely surrounded by important places like Secretariat, Heads of the Department buildings including Commercial centers at Bapuji Nagar, Janpath, Kalpana, Market Building, Daily Market at Unit-I. The peak hour flow of traffic is maximum during 8.300A.M to 11.30A.M. & 5.30P.M. to 8.00 P.M.. The vehicle flows are mostly from neighboring sub-urb areas & coastal villages accumulated through NH-203 & NH-5 & entering the official & buisiness destination at the city through Kalpana Square, Master canteen Square, AG Square & Sisubhawan Square crossing RajMahal Square. The traffic management was very difficult during peak hours. Vehicles are to be detained 25-30 minutes to cross the junction in 3 or 4 phase clearance. |

Considering this traffic hazard, Works Department felt the necessity of development of the junction at RajMahal Square to provide signal free/barrier free & user friendly non stop communication for the vehicular traffic to all legs of the junction. To achieve this objective, project was envisaged for construction of Fly Over with both side service roads at RajMahal Square connecting Kalpana Square leg with AG Square leg. |
| Fly over with service roads was taken up with a cost of Rs.53.27 Crore . |
